20 Books of Summer 2023

This is my second time participating in the 20 Books of Summer Reading Challenge, which is hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. This year, 20 Books of Summer starts June 1st and ends September 1st. When I participated two years ago, I completed 16 of 20 books.

This challenge is very flexible. You can aim for 15 Books of Summer or 10 Books of Summer if 20 is more than you want to commit to.

Days 20 and 21 – Visiting Wells Cathedral

On Saturday, I got up hideously early in order to catch a coach from Victoria Station to Bristol, then another to Wells, which I had heard was a lovely place to visit. Due to an ominous weather forecast and having frozen the previous Saturday, I was bundled up and braced for the worst but my timing was perfect - as I arrived in England’s smallest city, the sun came out after what they told me had been a deluge.

Green Dolphin Street (Book Review) #1944Club

The 1944 Club is a theme in which two prolific bloggers, Simon from Stuck in a Book and Karen from Kaggsy's Bookish Ramblings, promote a specific year of published books. Anyone can join in by reading and reviewing a book published in 1944 and adding a link to that book's review in the comments on Simon's blog. 1968,  1951 and 1977 have also been promoted recently.
