That's a great list of books - well done! I've read a few of them and particularly loved The Corinthian and Middlemarch. I have Mrs Porter Calling on the TBR, but still need to read the second book in that trilogy first.

That is a wonderful list, and very impressive. I haven't read any of those. I hope to read Middlemarch someday and also The Whalebone Theatre.

I've read Mrs Porter Calling, Middlemarch, The Marriage Portrait and all of the Heyers. There are so many on your list that I would like to get around to though.

Wow great list, you read a lot of historical fiction in 2023! Of these, I've read Horse, Tom Lake, Foster, and Trespasses by Louise Kennedy which was good. I'm on the list for Kennedy's next book which is a story collection called The End of the World Is a Cul-de-Sac. hmm. I'm also on the list for the Beyond the Sea novel ... which you reviewed.
