Spell the Month in Books – November

Spell the Month in Books is hosted by Reviews From the Stacks and occurs on the second Saturday of each month or maybe a few days later!
N    The Nowhere Man by Gregg Hurwitz (2017). Evan Smoak is a reluctant assassin. Once, he was Orphan X, a child plucked from an orphanage and turned into a killer. Now he knows no other way of life and has an enemy trying to destroy him . . .

O    Omens by Kelley Armstrong (2013). Olivia is shattered to learn that she’s adopted. Her biological parents? Notorious serial killers. Trying to learn more about her past, Olivia lands in the peculiar small town of Cainsville, Illinois.
V    The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis (1952). Lucy and Edmund return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace Scrubb and travel with King Caspian to the end of the world. My review.

E    Evil Intent by Kate Charles (2005). In this series launch, Callie Anson is beginning a new job as a curate in a London parish when she gets involved in the murder of a controversial Anglican minister. I used to read this author religiously (ha ha) and was pleased to see she is still writing.
M    The Mystery of the Emerald Buddha by Betty Cavanna (1976). Teen Lisette, spending the summer in Bangkok, tries to locate the stolen Emerald Buddha. My review.

B    Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner (2021). Frankie Elkin is a recovering alcoholic who spends her life doing what no one else will – searching for missing people the world has stopped looking for. In this book, she has come to gritty Mattapan, Massachusetts to find a lost teen. My review.

E    Eden Falls by Jane Sanderson (2013). The action moves back and forth from Yorkshire to Jamaica in this historical novel with an unusual cast of characters. My review.
R    Royal Summons by Elizabeth Cadell (1973). American Ellen Berg travels to her mother’s childhood home in England where she has to come to terms with the imperious aunt who drove her mother away.

Have you read any of these?

Always nice to see other bloggers doing this, I love the challenge. Never knew it was the second Saturday of the month, not a bad idea, actually. Will have to do that next month.

My Spell the Month in Books post for November.

I joined in with this for the first time this month. I don't know if I'll do it every month but I had fun with November! Your books are all new to me, apart from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Love your choices for November! Nowhere Man is a favorite of mine, mostly because I really love Evan Smoak! :D

Oh, now I think you mentioned Kate Charles to me recently. I must look into her books as I like a good ecclesiastical crime novel.

I read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and all the others in the series to my youngest son who was well able to read them himself, but liked to be read to at bedtime. It was hard going on my voice!
